deep?

I've decided that there is something inherent to blogging that makes whatever you post deep. Things that might seem insipid if someone had merely verbalized them to me are suddenly full of deep significance when they are written in a blog.

Really, I just wanted a platform to use the word "insipid." One of my students was reading Pride and Prejudice this afternoon and asked me what it meant. While I've seen the word many times, I had to admit that I didn't know what it meant. Of course, I couldn't come right out and say that to her. Instead I told her that to improve her dictionary skills, she should look it up. Her response? "But why, when I have you?" Apparently "virtual dictionary" is part of my job description.
