13.1
I finally ran my first half-marathon this morning with some friends from school. I was pretty nervous about it! Started training in September coming off a twisted ankle, made it up to 10.5 a few weeks ago and then last weekend when I was supposed to run 7, I got really light headed when I had to stop at a crosswalk at 3 miles, so cut that short. So I was not feeling at all prepared. But Laura and Jen assured me they would run with me the whole way.

And, they did!

The first 9 miles were fine, aside from the fact that there was no water on the course from 2.5 to after 8, which probably had at least something to do with how rough I felt for the last 4- just totally without energy. Which meant that there was some walking involved. And lots of singing. Show tunes, lots of Disney, with some Rolling Stones and Bon Jovi thrown in. Some friends from school were there to cheer us on at 1.5 and then again at 11.5.

We held hands across the finish line and came in at 2:12:46, right on the 10 minute mile pace I'd wanted to run (the course map said it was actually 13.25).

Afterward, we headed out for some tasty
Monell's family style breakfast and home for a nap!
