new years resolutions
I make resolutions, not goals. These are things I'm resolved to do. I've been generally successful in keeping those that I've made: I gave up french fries one year, chocolate another year. 2011 it was to exercise 125 days- I got 112.I'm keeping the same exercise goal this year and adding a few to it. I may add more in the next week. But I am resolved to make dinner- actually make dinner, not just cook a pizza or some pre-packaged pasta- once a week. I am resolved to learn to cook meat as well. I can make chicken breasts and brown ground beef/ turkey, but I've always been intimidated by trying to buy a pork tenderloin or any cut of beef, much less making anything with them. So this year, I'm going to learn. I'm also resolved to have friends over for dinner once or twice a month- what fun is making a real dinner if there's no one to eat it with you? So if you're in Nashville, look out for an invitation.
Haven't got such a good start on the exercise goal- 1/4 so far. But I did make myself some loaded baked potato soup for dinner tonight. And tomorrow, Catherine is coming over for dinner and I'm going to make this and this. And then, classes start (well, this semester, only one) and it gets tougher, but I am resolved.

Mmm. I shouldn't have followed those links when I'm so hungry and doubt there's anything in the fridge. How'd it turn out? That salad looks cool.
I wanna come for dinner!
