I do not know the way I go,
But oh, I know my Guide.
These lyrics really hit me this morning as I was driving to work. It really doesn't matter where I am, where the Lord leads me, what my circumstances are, because I know HIM. He is sufficient, He is gracious, He is forgiving, He is good. I know these things, because I know HIM.
It made me think of Saturday, hanging out with Kate. We were trying to get some grading done in a coffee shop, but they were all really crowded since it was a yucky day. So I told her, meet me on the corner by Starbucks, we're going on an adventure. Kate had no idea what I had in mind (she still doesn't!) , but she trusts me, so she was willing to go do whatever it was that I had cooked up. So it should be with me and God. I know him, I trust him, so I should be willing and content to follow him wherever he leads me, be it through the valley of the shadow of death or beside still waters.
Everyday, all I need is to know my Guide more and more.
