Why I love Google

I was listening to NPR the other day and there was a segment on the whole Google in China thing on. They had one guy searching for things from a computer in the States and another searching for the same things in Beijing. The guy in Beijing got no results because of the blocks. Interesting...

1. Like Kate, I love the changing Google logo during the Olympics. One of my favorite logo changes was from sometime last April, Van Gogh's birthday... they changed it into their version of Starry Night. Start with http://www.google.com/doodle2.html and change the number up through 12.

2. Google Translate is my new favorite thing. Its in the Language Tools to the right of the search bar on their homepage. Much better than babblefish.

3. Maps.google.com... Hours of endless entertainment!

4. Google Desktop Search

5. My personalized Google homepage

6. OK, this should probably be #1... GMAIL!! The 45 emails I got on Tuesday all went into one folder on one page and I did not have to click through 45 different messages in reverse order.

If you have more reasons that I should love Google, please share!

Yah! I love google. And G-mail..but I'm a chicken and just don't want to go through the process of telling everyone and everything my gmail e-mail address because it's too much effort: family, friends, subscriptions, logins, passwords...But maybe I should-- it IS so much easier to use than my current webmail-- and has endless storage space (so far, I use it mainly for pictures...).

What I REALLY need to do it figure out a way to transfer all of my saved messages to gmail without having to forward them all. (And I don't have outlook-- it's a webmail program.) Anyone know how to do this?
