anniversary
So today is the one year anniversary of my blog. Woohoo, happy birthday to my blog. Its also my 99th post. I'm kind of sad that it's not 100- seems that two such milestones together would be appropriate. I thought about an extra post right before this one, but what I was writing was stupid, so I scrapped it.If you like, you can read the article I was going to rant about.

I would like to rant about that article, too! Maybe we can together! Argh! Expect MORE of the teachers? Has this guy ever even taught in a classroom of 32 average students?! Most of the people I work with have Masters Degrees in Ed. but B.A.s (or B.S.) in their subject. I want to scream. Also, streamlined textbooks? The education system would be WORSE! Who would decide this uniform curriculum? Does this guy work for my school system, because it sure sounds like the stuff they are spouting off to us...And YES there IS something wrong with standardized testing. I find it funny that he cites both that "schools are obsessed with standardized testing" and "education needs to be individulized" together. Yes, sir, that's the problem right there -- those DON'T go together. You can't meet the needs of every student AND expect them to pass. Ok, ranting off now. I need to post a semi-encouraging story about one of my students. This has inspired me. Thanks, Court!
