The Singing Mechanic

OK, part II. Kate has this singer she likes named the Singing Mechanic and he has this song about driving down I-90. Driving I-90 consumed the next 10 or so days of our trip. After leaving Canada, we returned to Seattle for an evening. It was Kate's birthday and we went out to dinner with her brother and sister-in-law and her sister-in-law's brother to a yummy Greek restaurant where we consumed some good Greek wine. The next morning, we headed to the Seattle locks where we watched the locks move up and down a couple of times and watched the salmon swim up the fish ladder. That was pretty cool- we cheered for the fish as they hurtled their bodies up the rungs.

After a stop at Fred Meyer to refill the food supplies, we headed east on I-90. Just west of Spokane, we stopped to swim in the Columbia River. We drove through Spokane and into Idaho, my first new state. That night, we stopped in Coeur d'Alene briefly. We listened to a drum circle at the edge of the lake, dipped our feet in briefly and watched a gorgeous sunset.

Looks like it was a great trip. I've always wanted to head out west.
