post it notes

I think my blog may be feeling neglected. I certainly feel like I am neglecting my blog. So, I shall share my favorite story from this work week.

As yearbook advisor, I am also in charge of all school portraits, which includes senior cap and gown photos. They are coming up in few weeks, so the company sent me a poster to let the seniors sign up on. There were only 75 or so time slots and we have 200+ seniors, so it filled up quickly. I got rather tired of students constantly asking questions about what they should do since it was full and I stuck a post it note on top of the sign up sheet, indicating that I was trying to get some extra time slots and would let them know when I had them.

In spite of the note, students began to scratch others' names out and replace those names with their own. That's not a good thing, so I took the sign-up sheet down and just left the post-it note on my door.

As my yearbook students quickly pointed out to me amid bouts of laughter, the post-it note read, "I'm working on getting another date. When I have one, I will make an announcement."
