it's been a while

And yet there is nothing interesting to report. I ran the Peachtree. The weather was awesome! You can read more about this year racing t-shirt on Jessica's blog. Rode my bike to the Decatur Cemetery and back one day, but I didn't stay long in the cemetery since I was alone and I chose the hottest part of the day for my longest bike ride ever.

The most interesting things are yet to come. I return from XC coach's camp on Wednesday and fly to Newark on Thursday to join Kate and begin this year's road trip. A few days in Boston, a week in the Catskills, and a little over a week touring Maine, Vermont, and New Hampshire at our leisure, before returning to Atlanta on August 3 or 4th, having stopped in DC to see the Seatons.

And then back to work on August 6th.

I'm excited about this year's trip (other than the fact that I've never been to any of those places) because we'll have our bikes with us. Kate and I broke out the bike rack I bought in April last week and put the bikes on Scout. That was an interesting ordeal. We put the rack on Wednesday night and then the bikes on Thursday morning. After putting the rack on, we couldn't figure out why the directions said that you couldn't open the trunk with the rack in use. It didn't seem to cause any slipping or structural problems to open the hatch. Neither of us thought about the fact that 2 bikes are much heavier than just a rack, but Kate figured out in NJ why you can't open the trunk with the bikes on it!
