Facebook

Someone, somewhere had the bright idea that it would be a good idea to link high school and college Facebook. I suppose this makes some sense for those still in high school or college, but for those of us who are now high school teachers, it does not seem like such a good idea. My yearbook staff thought that this was the best thing in the world. While I had momentarily vacated my computer (which was logged in) they invited themselvews to be my friend from my account. Great. All of my students are on facebook and now will have access to me!This is not something that I want to have to deal with. They already think a little too much that I am their friend. So, of course, the first thing I did was REMOVE the link to this blog from my profile!

Oh man. I know what you mean. I'm not on facebook-- but I once accidentally forgot to minimize my screen after lunch and a kid asked "Mrs. Redd, what's "Team Redd" mean?" I almost died. "Oh, nothing..." I said, as I quixkly closed the window.

So far, no one's found it. I just hope no student finds my myspace page, which links to the blog. So far, no one has. *phew!*
